Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519) is best known for his works such as Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, but the self-taught artist also created exceptional drawings. Said to be preliminary sketches for a sculpture which was never completed, Sketch of a Horse shows Da Vinci's incomparable talent at capturing the essence of his subject.
